The Season Pass and what comes next
The $14.99 Season Pass covers two expansions, each with a new story, new escape rooms and extra credit side quests, plus the Mask-uerade cosmetic pack; the studio has not put a window on either expansion.
The Escape Academy 2 Season Pass costs $14.99 and covers two expansions that do not have dates. That is the whole of what is officially known, and this page collects every official sentence about it so you can judge whether pre-paying makes sense for you.

There is no roadmap. The studio has said it will keep patching and has promised more news on the expansions, and it has not published a window, a room count or a chapter name for either.
What the pass contains
From the launch announcement of 6 November 2026:
- Two upcoming major expansions. The word "major" is the studio's.
- Each expansion includes an all-new narrative set in the Escape Academy universe.
- Each includes brand new escape rooms.
- Each includes extra credit side quests.
- The Mask-uerade Cosmetic DLC pack is part of the pass.
From the pinned FAQ, one clarification the store listing does not make: the two DLCs are separate stories from the base game, with new puzzles. The FAQ puts it plainly - "Season pass = 2 upcoming DLCs we're working on. New puzzles, separate stories from the base game. Also includes the Mask-uerade Cosmetic Pack."
| Item | Included | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Expansion 1 | New narrative, new rooms, extra credit quests | Not announced |
| Expansion 2 | New narrative, new rooms, extra credit quests | Not announced |
| Mask-uerade Cosmetic pack | Cosmetics | Already available with the pass |
The exact wording on timing
Three official statements exist about when the expansions arrive, and all three are the same kind of sentence. The 13 October announcement: "Stay tuned to these channels as we'll have more to say soon about post-launch plans for Escape Academy 2, including TWO upcoming DLC adventures that we are hard at work on right now!" The launch announcement: the pass "includes two upcoming major expansions". The pinned FAQ: "2 upcoming DLCs we're working on". Three statements, no dates, no windows, no quarter.
The co-op rule that applies to DLC
One detail from the FAQ that is easy to miss and expensive to discover later: the no-friend-pass rule extends to the expansions. Buying the Season Pass on one account does not let a second player join the new content.
That means a co-op pair who both want the expansions needs two passes, which changes the arithmetic from $14.99 to $29.98 for a household. If you play solo, this does not apply.
Whether to buy it now
Three positions, all defensible:
Buy now if you finished the base game and want everything the studio makes. The pass is priced below buying two expansions separately, and the cosmetic pack is included.
Wait if you have not finished the campaign. The base game is complete and self-contained; nothing in the pass improves it retroactively. There is no reason to own content that does not exist yet.
Skip if you want a defined ending. The base game has one. The expansions will be additional stories rather than a continuation, per the FAQ's "separate stories from the base game".
What the pass is not
- Not a scheduled season. No battle pass, no timed rewards, no expiry.
- Not cosmetic-only. Two narrative expansions are the substance; the Mask-uerade pack is a bonus.
- Not a base-game discount. It is an add-on; the Deluxe Edition is the bundle that includes both.
- Not transferable. Both co-op players need their own copy, same as the base game.
How the pass fits the rest of the store
| SKU | Price | Relationship to the pass |
|---|---|---|
| Base game | $16.99 | Required |
| Season Pass | $14.99 | This page |
| Supporter Pack | $5.99 | Separate - soundtrack and artbook, no rooms |
| Soundtrack | $3.99 | Subset of the Supporter Pack |
| Deluxe Edition | Bundled | Base game plus pass plus Supporter Pack contents |
If you want both the pass and the artbook, the Deluxe Edition is the cheaper route and the editions page has the arithmetic.

How to think about an undated season pass
Pre-paying for undated content is a financing decision dressed as a purchase. The case for buying now: the pass is priced below two expansions bought separately, the cosmetic pack ships immediately, and you are signalling to a studio that took a swing at a new structure. The case for waiting: every risk sits on your side - if the expansions slip you have paid early for nothing, if they change shape you have bought a promise, and if you lose interest the pass does not refund. There is no third option where you get the content without waiting. It is a $14.99 bet on the studio, not a purchase of content.
What would change this page
Three announcements, any of which would make the pass a straightforward buy rather than a bet:
- A date or a window for either expansion. Even "2027" would move this from speculation to planning.
- A room count. "Major expansion" is a marketing adjective; "twelve rooms" is a fact.
- Confirmation that expansion content works for guests. The FAQ's no-friend-pass rule currently implies both players must buy it, and a change to that would materially change the household cost.
Until one of those lands, the position on this page is the same as the position on the editions page: buy the base game, finish it, then decide.
