Three routes through the site

Route one: just bought it

Read the campus guide first, because the game will not tell you what the five areas are for, and then chapter 1 for the orientation order. Keep no-timer mode open in a second tab while you decide whether the clock suits you, and skim known issues so that when a ball refuses to roll you know it is the game and not you.

Route two: stuck right now

The three pages that answer the three most-reported stalls are the maze, the clocktower and the ship. If none of them match what you are looking at, puzzle types will tell you which family you are in, and known issues covers the bugs that look like puzzle failures.

The one-line version of all four: reload the level before you assume the puzzle is broken, and check for a mirrored arrangement before you assume you are wrong.

Route three: deciding whether to spend

Start with what the game is for the shape of it, then release date and price for the number, then is it worth $16.99 for the argument. If you are weighing it against something else, the Escape Simulator 2 comparison and the first game comparison cover both directions, and editions settles which SKU to buy.

What this site does not have

Three deliberate absences, so you do not go looking:

  • No codes page. There is no code system in this game. Escape bucks are earned, not redeemed.
  • No tier list or stat tables. There are no character stats, weapons or builds to rank. The closest thing is the achievement ladder, which is a progress measure rather than a power ranking.
  • No step-by-step puzzle solutions. The studio has not published any, the community has not settled any for the rooms that generate the most questions, and inventing them would produce a page that wastes an evening. The puzzle pages give what is verifiable: what the room asks, where players stall, and the checks that fix the two most common causes.
